65th National Film Awards: Yesudas, Fahadh, Jayaraj add to Malayalam bouquet

New Delhi: The 65th National Film Awards have been announced by the committee headed by eminent director Shekhar Kapoor Assamese film Village Rockstar directed by Rima Das has won the best film award.”

Malayalam film Thondimuthalam Driksashiyum has won two awards namely for best screenplay and best Malayalam film. Sridevi has won best actress award for the movie ‘Mom’. Bengali actor Riti sen won best actor award.

Apart from Shekhar Kapur, the committee other ten members with five regional chairpersons who heads the respective regional panels.

Malayalam actress Parvathi has won special jury mention for the movie ‘Take off’. Fahad Fasil has won best supporting actor award for Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum. Jayaraj won best actor award for Bhayanakam.

Nikhil Praveen got best cinematographer award for the Malayalam film Bhayanakam.

Slave Genesis, directed by Keralite Anees KM, has won the award for the best film in the non-feature film category.
