Neeli is a horror comic drama which figures out how to be sufficiently frightening however not convincing.

Mamtha Mohandas‘ Neeli is a horror comedy thriller. The movie which denotes the directorial debut of Althaf Rahman who has prior worked with noted filmmakers like Lijo Jose Pellissery and Joshiy, likewise stars Anoop Menon, Rahul Madhav, Baby Miya, Marimaayam Sreekumar, and Baburaj among others in lead parts. Lakshmi is a language teacher. She moves back to her local town Kalliyankad with her little girl after her significant other passes away. Amid one night, her girl gets hijacked. She does whatever she can do to discover her little girl and a couple of others approach to help her in it. How they achieve the mission and Lakshmi gets back her little girl shape the core of the film.

The main portion of the film attempts to set up the characters and the setting. In spite of the fact that it prevails in its point, it doesn’t precisely appear to be locked in. The loathsomeness scenes in the film are generally buzzword ridden and natural. The second half stands nearly better. Yet, notwithstanding a couple of scenes which send chills down the spine of the crowd, Althaf Rahman neglects to convey a compelling peak as well as abandons it to some degree equivocal.

Lakshmi is by all accounts a role customized for Mamta and the performing artist has done equity to it. It is Anoop Menon who takes the show in this ghastliness thriller in the part of a paranormalist specialist. Baburaj and Sreekumar, who shows up as two great-hearted cheats, get humor into the story. Zinil Zainudeen who plays a deceitful picture taker additionally does his part fine while Rahul Madhav appearance seems to be a better than average one.

Neeli is a horror comic drama which figures out how to be sufficiently frightening however not convincing.
